Charles Gibson Sims (1880-1932) - Occupation Description
Charles was a farmer in North Carolina during the early 20th century. In the 1920's half of North Carolina's population lived on working farms. During the depression, hard times hit local farmers. Falling crop prices and rising farm costs contributed to the demise of farmers. It became harder and harder for them to pay off their debts. Many farmers lost their land.
