  • Johnson, Jessie Stewart Sims to Robert Graham Kizer

Kizer-Johnson.  Mrs. Jessie Sims Johnson and Prof. R. G. Kizer Married Here Saturday Afternoon.  A marriage that will come as a great surprise to their many friends was solemnized here Saturday afternoon at 5 o'clock, when Mrs. Jessie Sims Johnston and Prof. R. G. Kizer, both of Salisbury, were married.  The ceremony took place at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. J. A. Sims, of this city and was performed by Dr. M. M. Kinard, of Salsibury.  Only a few intimate friends and relatives witnessed the ceremony, which was a quiet one in every respect.  Mrs. Kizer has been living in Salisbury since the death of her first husband, over five years ago.  She has made a host of friends there and here, who will be interested in the announcement of her marriage.  Prof. Kizer is a well known educator of Rowan county, having been superintendent of education in Rowan for 25 years.  They will make their home in Salisbury.

  • Sims, Adella Isabella to Paul Blair Parks

Parks-Sims.  Concord, Aug. 16. - The marriage of Miss Della Sims and Mr. Paul Parks was solemnized at the home of the bride's parents, in this city, last night at 8:45 o'clock.  The ceremony was performed by Rev. Mr. Miller, of the Presbyterian church.  There were only two attendants.  Mr. Hugh Parks, a brother to the groom and Miss Alice Sims, sister of the bride.  The young couple received many beautiful presents.  They will go to house-keeping at once.  The bride is a daughter of ex-Sheriff John A. Sims and the groom is a promising young business man of this city.

  • Sims, Alice Rebecca to Patrick Henry Williams

Miss Sims to Marry.  Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Sims to Marry in August.  Invitations to the wedding of Miss Alice Sims were today received.  The event in which so many friends and acquaintenances of this most popular young lady are interested will take place on the 3rd of August.  The following is the invitation:

  • Sims, Bessie Iona to James H. Mewborne

Miss Bessie Sims, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jno. A. Sims, will be married this evening to Mr. James H. Mewboorne, of Kinston.  The ceremony will be performed at the home of the bride near town, by Rev. Geo. H. Cornelson, at 5 o'clock.  Immediately after the ceremony the bride and groom will leave for Kinston, the home of the groom.

  • Sims, Daisy to Claude A. Matthews

Mr. Claude A. Matthews and Miss Daisy Sims Married Last Night.  A wedding of more than usual interest to the many friends of the contracting parties took place last night in the parlor of the manse of the Second Presbyterian church.  This was the marriage of Mr. Claude A. Matthews and Miss Daisy Sims.  The wedding was a quiet affair, only a few invited friends of the bride and groom witnessing the ceremony.  Rev. J. W. Stagg, D. D., pastor of the Second Presbyterian church, performed the solemn and impressive ceremony which made them one.  Mr. Albert Summey was best man.  After the ceremony the young couple received the hearty congratulations of those assembled, who wished them a long and happy voyage on the sea of matrimony.  The bride is a handsome blonde of attractive appearance, and possesses all the elements that combine to make up lovely womanhood.  She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Sims, and has a large circle of warm friends.  The groom is a native of Reidsville, N. C., and is related to some of the most prominent families in this State and Virginia.  He has been a residentof Charlotte for a number of years, and most of that time has been engaged in newspaper work.  He was a reporter on the Charlotte Chronicle and special correspondent of several New York and Washington newspapers.  He has been for two years assistant city editor of the Charlotte News, and his work on this paper has attracted much attention.  Mr. and Mrs. Matthews have the best wishes of a host of friends, who hope that their married life will be as unclouded as a summer day.
